New Mexico joined 10 states and Washington, D.C., as having more than 55 percent of total shipments moving into the state in 2011. The other states are Texas, Alaska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.
The migration trends study showed Southwestern and Mid-Atlantic coastal states were the most popular destinations for moves.
